This is a fresh approach to the commentary of the UK's most famous horse race. Every time a horse successfully jumps a fence, it's name is sung at a note determined by it's betting odds.

I just finished a fashion shoot with Emily Mann's range of menswear. Emily is a 2010 fashion graduate from Kingston University who's collection is inspired by Glen Denny's 1960's images of Yosemeti rock climbers. The resulting look book (designed by James Titterton) has been selected to be shown at London's Graduate Fashion Week 2010.

My work is currently being shown at the STOLEN show at Arden & Anstruther Gallery, Petworth. The 'comfort' project featured earlier in this blog is on show there. Volenteers for this project were randomly asked to swap clothes, regardless of their shape, size or gender. They were photographed in a controlled studio environment and the results have been compiled into a book.

South Africa - Wola Nani

In January 2010 I won a place to accompany Kingston University lecturers Simon Maidman, Catherine McDermott and Rebecca Wright on a research trip to Capetown as a documetary photographer. I spent 10 days visiting various townships and meeting people asscociated with Wola Nani (a non government organisation that bring relief to the communities hardest hit by the HIV crisis). I am currently designing a website to hold all of the information from the project but for now here are a few of the images.

Weightless

Promotional photography for Dickon Stone and 'Curriculum Clubnights'; an up and comming clubnight based in south east London. I just finished this shoot where my aim was to capture an image that defies gravity.

This self initiated project explored the nature of comfort by questioning why we wear certain clothes. We took two names from participants at random and photographed them in their own clothes followed by their chosen partners outfit.

Living in London and Devon at the same time creates quite a contrast and sometimes makes me question were I really belong. I feel attached to both, yet like I don't belong to either at the same time. I have represented this by creating digital montages that question the viewers perception of reality.

As part of the the Kingston University Degree Show 2009 some of my photographs were published within the fine art catalogue. I was asked to capture some of the most used and most memorable areas of the university, the images were placed in 6 double page spreads and featured at intervals though-out the rest of the catalogue.

Our aim was to start a sport dancing trend and visualize a tipping point so we created this post-dated documentary that convinces the audience that this dance style is already a worldwide phenomenon.

A typographic exploration into the unpopular act of waiting. After researching the physical and mental affects of waiting I compiled a poem and illustrated it appropriately.

This short moving image is a stop motion animation featuring 24 hours of a ceiling. It is made from a photograph every 5 minutes of a living room.

I have been observing how light is cast upon household ceilings as it changes its state throughout the day and photographing various locations. I have been inspired by the soft beauty of the ceiling and how it is not often used for anything other than lighting.
This piece suggest human activity by the lights turning off and on but it has no further insight as to what is happening within the room. As an installation it was displayed projected onto a vertical wall.

For this group project we created a celebrity who is controlled by the people that surround her, she is a human puppet and becomes a product of the unseen (as are many modern celebrities).

I studied a moving image module that required me to research and make a video of some kind. I took the opportunity to experiment with sound design. Using drums, vocals and found sounds I created a piece about the city and filmed visuals to correspond with it.

BUSINESS MEETS PLEASURE

I loaded my camera to explore the diversity of typography to be found amongst the market places in central London (for part of a project). As I arrived at Brixton market I unknowingly loaded a pre-used film into my OM-10 SLR.

I set about to capture the typographic delights of the city, not realizing I was double exposing pictures taken of my family and friends in Devon. I find their compositions fascinating and some of the co-incidences quite striking.
